CoAmana, an agribusiness among CLIC’s 2023 cohort of SMEs, has received a strategic investment from Emerald Africa Financing Facility! The funding will help scale CoAmana’s buy-now-pay-later capacities in Kenya to support more farmers and agribusinesses with credit access.
CoAmana digitizes physical market hubs and food systems in Kenya and Nigeria by linking rural agri-SMEs to market trade services, financing, and fulfilment solutions. Founded by Hafsah Jumare, the company is among the eight agri-SMEs supported by CLIC’s Agrifood Investment Connector, a platform to raise private funding for early-stage agribusinesses with climate and nature impacts in emerging markets.
Emerald Africa Financing Facility (EAFF) is a debt financing facility incubated by CLIC member Small Foundation, a philanthropy catalysing and scaling finance for rural SMEs in Sub-Saharan Africa. EAFF invests in early-stage agri-tech ventures that offer credit services to SMEs to enable greater financial access and inclusion.
